BM Road Service System
A management system adapted for operation and maintenance work on roads and parks
The BM ROAD SERVICE SYSTEM™ is a management system adapted for operation and maintenance work on roads and parks, and can be used by both orderers and performers. The programme service focuses on the digitalisation and automation of work processes. Among other things, it covers the areas of calculation, planning, management, execution, verification, follow-up and invoicing.
If you work with the operation and maintenance of roads and parks, you’ve come to the right place. We have more than 20 years of experience in the digitalisation and automation of these businesses, and can deliver both powerful IT tools and consulting services in the form of business consultants and system adaptations. When it comes to the state road network, our systems are used in about 80% of the market, in a large number of municipalities. We also have established dealers in the United Kingdom and Norway.
Our intelligent BM Road Service System™ management system can automate most tasks – from planning to invoicing. In addition to making the work easier and more efficient (as well as more fun), it offers great opportunities to reduce costs while simultaneously improving quality. In the long run, this pays off with safer roads, reduced environmental impact and a better working environment for staff, both in the office and in the field.
We usually divide the digitalisation work into three phases, and our experienced business consultants help you every step of the way, guiding you as you implement best practices and ensuring that the system yields the desired effects in your business.
- Planning Phase – This phase starts with a review of the business and its initial existing needs in terms of, e.g. follow-up, remuneration models and the most appropriate ways of working. The road network and maintenance objects of the business are digitalised or uploaded from NVDB, maintenance work is planned and optimised, and appropriate vehicle resources are allocated.
- Installation Phase – The management system is installed quickly and easily, and the staff receives training about the new work processes and digital tools.
- Operational Phase – Once installation has occurred, it is no longer a question of managing a static system. Rather, the challenge is to constantly seek out new improvements that improve quality or reduce costs. As knowledge of the new tools increases, work methods are refined and developed, allowing streamlining and quality improvements to be implemented at a rapid pace. If you have a problem our support department will spring into action to help, and our business consultants are always eager to hear your new thoughts and ideas.
The BM Road Service System™ includes four different system services:
- Road Maintenance
Work involving recurrent planned actions on roads or green areas (snow removal, anti-skid measures, sand removal, well cleaning, lawn mowing, etc.).
- Check & Repair
Work to address defects and deviations (broken railings, potholes, etc.)
- Work Order
Work pertaining to work orders and time/mtrl reporting for all types of tasks and projects.
Work with material transports involved in, e.g. pavement work.
We drive development by continuously introducing new innovations. Examples of these include custom navigation support for drivers, a digital call-out service, advanced route optimisation and sprayer control. The BM Dynamic Routes™ service won us SBUF’s Innovation of the Year Award in 2019. It combines several of our innovations and also uses the new, detailed road conditions forecasts available today. By digitalising your business with a modern management system, you can ensure that your decisions are well-founded and that all necessary information is delivered to the right person at the right time, i.e. to supervisors, orderers, performers, citizens and other stakeholders. All work is conducted in a structured manner guided by well-defined processes, and all actions and deviations are documented and compiled automatically for follow-up and invoicing.
